Library of the Max Planck Institutes Martinsried

Library of the Max Planck Institutes Martinsried

The library of the Max Planck Institutes Martinsried is a specialized scientific library. The collection focuses are oriented to the research topics of the departments and research groups of the institutes.

As a joint service facility for the two neighbouring Max Planck Institutes of Biochemistry and for Biological Intelligence the task of the special scientific library is to support research at the two institutes in the best possible way and with efficient service. For this purpose, the library provides printed and electronic media as well as information for basic research in the fields of biochemistry, cell and structural biology and neurosciences as well as biomedical research. The stock of around 20,000 specialist books is supplemented by the institute's own university publications and an extensive stock of MPG-licensed e-books, scientific journals and databases.

The library's services include the procurement of literature via interlibrary loan, information on open access and the administration of the publications of the scientists (MPG.PuRe).

The library is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the employees of both institutes. Scientifically interested visitors can only use the institute library after prior agreement by telephone or e-mail.
