Postdoc, NGS Core Facility

Abbie Casper received her PhD. from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 where she studied the sex-determination of Drosophila germ cells during embryogenesis.  As a postdoc she moved with Ulrike Gaul’s lab from Rockefeller University in New York City to the LMU in Munich to study macrophages ability to recognize self vs. non-self.  In the Gaul lab she also studied the role of novel Gap junction proteins in the formation of the blood brain barrier. Since 2022 she helps support the NGS core facility and automates library preparation protocols on the Biomek i7 robotics. Outside of the lab she is busy with her three children.
