Kenichiro Abe

Postdoc

Kenichiro studied biology at Tokyo Denki University. He then joined the lab of Fugaku Aoki at University of Tokyo as master student to study global gene silencing mechanism in fully grown oocytes of mice and then he changed the research subject into study of function and regulation of minor zygotic genome activation for his PhD thesis. As postdoc in the lab of Goshi Shiota, he assessed the effect of novel therapeutic compound on liver injury. He then moved to the lab of Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla at Helmholtz Center Munich to investigate transcription mechanism of zygotic genome activation. Kenichiro is now a Postdoc in the lab and will shed light on mechanism of reprogramming after fertilization. Apart from science, he’s enjoying an excursion with his family.
