Alisa is fascinated by unraveling the fundamental mechanisms of cellular reprogramming and totipotency in early embryos, particularly from an evolutionary perspective. How can the enucleated egg reprogram the somatic nucleus to a totipotent state? What initiates zygotic genome activation? These intriguing questions occupy her mind during the week. Outside of the lab, Alisa finds inspiration in the calming landscapes of the Alps, which fuel her passion for further exploration.
