Marlene Willner

Bachelor student

Marlene Willner is studying biochemistry for her bachelor degree at the Technical University of Munich. During her studies she travelled to the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, to investigate the potential role of homologous recombination proteins in the regulation of the cell cycle in fission yeast. Interested in the fundamental components of the beginning of life, she joined the Tachibana lab as a bachelor student in October 2023 to investigate totipotency. Marlene is especially interested in studying the molecular mechanism of zygotic genome activation in mice. She is learning techniques like FISH, microinjections, and CUT&Tag.
