Alina received her bachelor's degree in Genetics and Biotechnology from St. Petersburg State University and her master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2022 from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), the latter funded by a scholarship from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD). During her master's thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Heinrich Leonhardt, she explored the interplay between different epigenetic regulators of histone modifications and their role in establishment of chromatin composition during transitions through various stages of pluripotency in mESCs. Now pursuing her PhD at the Tachibana Lab, Alina's primary focus lies in unraveling the mechanisms that underlie chromatin reprogramming to totipotency in early embryo. Beyond the academic realm, she enjoys hiking and running.
