Dr. Adam Mamot

I graduated from the University of Warsaw with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, where I was awarded the best bachelor's thesis for my research on click chemistry-based methods for mRNA detection. I then completed a PhD focusing on RNA modification techniques, which led to advances in mRNA molecular probes and the development of chemically modified circular RNA. I was awarded the START Prize from the Foundation for Polish Science for my contributions. In 2023, I received a fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to join Petra Schwille's lab at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, where I am designing and studying the properties of minimal gene expression machinery in the context of lipid membranes. Recently, I was awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship to develop self-assembling systems for therapeutic mRNA production and delivery.

mRNA therapeutics, RNA transcription and modification, molecular self-organization and compartmentalization, synthetic biology, gene delivery systems.
