MPIB Research Group Leader is Member of the New Training Network PloidyNet
Wrong numbers of chromosomes are seen in more than two third of all cancers. Although it is clear, that aneuploidy is a hallmark of cancer cells, its molecular consequences are not yet fully investigated. Therefore the network will train a total of nine PhD students and two postdocs over the next four years who work on research projects dealing with aneuploidy. They will get the possibility to benefit of the vast expertise of the network´s members or participate in different workshops and technical trainings.
Further members of the PloidyNet are: René Medema (Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, the Netherlands), Floris Foijer (European Institute for the Biology of Ageing, UMCG, University Groningen, the Netherlands), Geert Kops (University Utrecht, the Netherlands), Stephen Taylor (University of Manchester, UK), Bill Earnshaw (University of Edinburgh, UK), Erich Nigg (University of Basel, Switzerland), Zuzana Storchova (Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany), Rocio Sotillo (EMBL Monterotondo, Italy), Charles Swanton (London Research Institute, UK), Guido Zaman (Netherlands Translational Research Center, NTRC, Oss, the Netherlands), Olaf Hardt (Miltenyi Biotec, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) and Bernard van Vliet (Syncom, Groningen, the Netherlands).
